He was born August 9, 1918 in New Albany, Mississippi, to Hubert and Ollie (Stubbs) Hodge. He married Eloise Ezell and she preceded him in death in 1985. His parents, one brother and one sister also preceded him in death.
Surviving is a cousin, Ruth Neal of Peoria who was his caretaker for many years, a niece and a nephew.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked for Elgin Watch company for many years before retiring.
A service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. The Bishop Leroy Smith will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
