

Peoria: James Hawley Irwin Jr. 56, of Peoria, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home after fighting malignant melanoma for four years.
James was born on August 12, 1957 in Springfield, IL the son of James Hawley & Lois Nickelson Irwin. He married Linda Kieliszewski on March 21, 1981 in Hillside, IL.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years; his children, Timothy (Stephanie) Irwin of Normal, Christina (Eleuterio) Medina of Decatur, Paul ( Jessica Raines)Irwin and Jonathan Irwin all of Peoria; four grandchildren, Jeremiah, Isabella, Matthew, and Ava; his mother, Lois; one brother, Ken (Tey) Irwin of Springfield; and one sister, Helen Campbell of Union Mills, Indiana.
James was preceded in death by his father.
He received his Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Bradley University. He received his Doctorate from University of Illinois.
James was a member of First Covenant Church in Peoria. He taught Sunday School and also served as the building and grounds Deacon for several years.
James was an Associate Professor at Bradley University for twenty-six years. He was the Faculty Advisor for Intervarsity Christian Fellowship for twenty-five years.
Through his strong faith in our Lord, he was a godly man and a loving Husband, Dad, and Grandpa.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Pastor Kevin Wright will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to First Covenant Missions Fund, Great Oaks, or Southside Mission.
