

He was born April 30, 1946 in Franklin, TN to John W. and Earlene E. (Posey) Pomeroy. He married Nancy Korzeniowski Feb. 5, 1966 in Norwood. She survives along with three children: James Pomeroy of Glasford, Angela (Darrin) Rendleman of Norwood, Chris (Terri) Pomeroy of Mackinaw; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Delores (Bob) Hotkevich of Washington, Sandra Pomeroy of East Peoria; two brothers: William “Bill” (Cindy) Pomeroy of Banner, Michael Pomeroy of Norwood; and one sister-in-law, Marilyn (Bob) Seelye of Creve Coeur.
James was an Army Vietnam War Veteran serving from 1966 until 1968. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 169 and was an AMVETS Rider. He was also a member of the Teamsters.
He was an Owner and Operator for NKP Trucking.
Visitation will be Thursday July 22, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Funeral services will be Friday July 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.at the funeral home, with Rev. Paul Maitland officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the AMVETS Riders # 169.
