Janet R. Croxton

Janet was born October 11, 1938 in Pleasantview, IL to Howard and Verda (Juett) Gossage. She married James Croxton on June 23, 1956 in Rushville. He preceded her in death in 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Gregg Jaymes Croxton and Christopher Croxton; one daughter, Valerie Freeman; three brothers, Frances "Butch", Stanley "Stan", and Lyle "Joe" Gossage; one sister, Debbie Wescott; one grandson, Steffon Croxton; and one great-granddaughter, Shelby Utsinger.

Surviving are her two daughters, Lori (Mike) Carroll and Kymm (Bryan Vicary) Croxton both of Peoria; daughters-in-law, Lori Croxton of Bartonville and Maryann Anderson of Mesa, Arizona; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Gossage and Teresa Gossage both of Rushville; and many nieces and nephews.

Janet worked as a Clerk with Klean Rite Cleaners in Peoria, retiring in 2002. She was a local vocalist who sang with the Jan Croxton and the Rhythmaires and Jan LaCrosse and the Cross Country bands, and she also released two records. Janet was also an avid Bowler and die hard Cub Fan.

A funeral service will be at 7 pm on Monday, May 8, 2023 with visitation from 5:30 pm until the start of the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
