Jerry W. Newsam

He was born October 24, 1937 in Peoria to Harold Pauline (Hierspiel) Newsam. He married Barbara M. Percefull on November 9, 1963 in East Peoria, IL and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Steven (Sandy) Newsam of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Kathryn (Charles) Newsam-Gullette of Peoria; grandsons; Ryant (Shelby) Lambie, Cory Lambie, Caleb (Sydney) Newsam and Austin (Mari) Newsam; nine great grandchildren; a niece, Janice (David) Spain, and a nephew Michael Thomas (Tammy) Newsam.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Beverly Jane, brother, Jan Thomas and a niece, Lori Ann.

Jerry was a graduate of Bradley University with a degree in Business Administration. He also served in the Illinois Air National Guard and in active duty during the Berlin crisis. Jerry was an avid golfer and played on the Bradley golf team his junior and senior year. He worked 18 years in the banking industry locally and 12 years as an accountant for RLI in Peoria. He was a past member of the Elks Club where he served as treasurer for several years and a past member of the Northwest United Methodist church where he served on the finance committee.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria with visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
