Jesse Dean Miller

Dean was born on June 19, 1924 in La Crew, Iowa to Earl Laning and Blanche E. (Bushey) Miller. He married Betty L. Waugh on August 1, 1948 in Peoria. She preceded him in death in January of 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Sylvia L. Miller; and two brothers, Kenneth R. Miller and Kinsey B. Miller.

Surviving are one brother, Lyle B. Miller of Peoria and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dean was the Operation Supervisor for Caterpillar for 38 years. He was a Mason and Shriner and was a member of the Blue Lodge and the Consistory. Dean was a member and past-president of the CAT Golf Association and was a member of the CAT Retirees Club. He served as a Deacon, Church Mouse, Secretary and Board of Elders for the First Presbyterian Church in Peoria and was a member of First Federated Church in Peoria. Dean enjoyed playing on the church dart ball league, fishing, golfing and traveling to Florida and Door County Wisconsin.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 4pm to 7pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. A service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at First Federated Church in Peoria, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Henry Hines will be officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Greater Midwest Affiliate or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Midwest Affiliate.
