Joan E. Lehman McClintick

Joan E. McClintick, 87, of Peoria, passed away at 9:25 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at Christian Buehler Memorial Nursing Home in Peoria. She was born March 2, 1925 in Peoria to Edward A. and Elsie M. (Ehlen) Lehman. She married Robert E. McClintick on October 9, 1949 in Peoria. He died April 15, 1971 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister Carol Griffith. Surviving are nieces and nephews: Jana (David) Lloyd of Peoria, Andrea (Randall) Tallman of Kenosha, WI, Paul (Deborah) Griffith of Peoria, Robert (JoAnn) Stevens of Peoria; several great-nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great-nephews. Joan worked for the Peoria Journal Star for 46 years retiring from the payroll account department. She was a former member of the American Business Women’s Association, Peoria Art Students League, Illinois Valley Kennel Club, Boxer Club of Peoria, United States Trotting Association, and Illinois Standard bred Owners & Breeders Association, National Women’s Bowling Association, National Audubon Society, and Peoria Chiefs and Chicago Cubs Booster Clubs. She was also active in the Fun and Fit Exercise Club. Joan was life member of Forrest Hill United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
