She was a Clinical Instructor at the Methodist School of Nursing for 22 years and retired in 1989. One of the greatest joys for JoAnn and her family members was meeting former students who had fond and appreciative memories of her nursing instructor abilities. She shared her talents and compassion with many future nurses and the patients she cared for.
JoAnn was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and loyal friend to many. She was one of the kindest and most caring people that one could ever meet. She enjoyed being involved in church activities, traveling, music, spending time with family and doing “fancy work” such as crocheting and embroidery. JoAnn was a very special, loving grandmother and found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren.
JoAnn was a member of United Methodist Women, United Fellowship Organization, Eastern Star and Peoria Women’s Club. She was a long time member and Sunday School teacher at Grace United Methodist Church until it closed in 2002.
