

John was born on June 5, 1933 in Evanston, IL, the son of Richard C. & Gertrude (Wallenberger) Leetz. He married Jane L. Motyka on October 26, 1963 in Green Bay Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years; his three children, John R. Leetz Jr. of Peoria, Trudi Jane (Mike) Magiera of Chicago, and Ruth Anne (Paul) Bridgman of Chicago; one brother, David Andrew (Maddie) of Lincoln, California; five grandchildren, Jared Rogers, of Peoria Heights, Zach, Emily and Luke Bridgman of Chicago and Faith Magiera of Chicago.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
John was a very proud graduate of Culver Military Academy in Indiana. He was a student at Grinnell College. He achieved a Degree from the Art Institute of Chicago. He worked 30 years at American Hospital Supply of Chicago, IL. He later opened his own business, JR Leetz and Associates Inc., running it proudly and successfully for the next 20 years.
He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and active Cub Scout Leader early in life. John was a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Evanston, IL before moving to Dunlap, IL. He is now a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church.
He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriner’s of Evanston, IL for 50 years. John gave over 2 gallons of blood to the Red Cross over the years, and was very proud to do so. He is most loved, and will be dearly missed and talked about often as being a good man.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 18, 2012 at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria. Pastor Michael Shirey will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Burial will be in Mt. Hawley Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to his church.
