

He was born March 10, 1934 in Peoria to Robert and Alva (Kronblad) Rush. He first married Marilyn Miller in Chicago on June 1, 1968. She passed away Sep. 15, 2004 in Peoria. He later married Patricia Joseph on Dec. 1, 2012 in Peoria. She survives along with his two sons: Matthew Rush of Peoria, Jason Rush of Park Ridge, IL, one granddaughter, Penny Rush of Park Ridge, and one brother, Stanley (Arlene) Rush of Metamora.
John graduated from Bradley University in 1955 with a BFA. He served in the military from 1956 to 1958 where he directed the graphics department at the Psychological Warfare Center, Fort Bragg, NC.
He retired as Chairman of the Board, Dynamic Graphics, Inc., Peoria, in 1997.
He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. He had served on the Boards of the Kidney Foundation, Lutheran Social Services, and FRIENDS.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. Additional visitation will be Wednesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, Maryknoll, NY, St. Thomas Church, American Cancer Society, National Kidney Foundation, or FRIENDS.
