

Jr., born December 25, 1969 in Meridian, MS to Rev. Joseph H. and Myrtlene (Dunnigan) Cherry. Jr. departed this life unto another on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 12 noon in the home of his parents.
Jr. attended Parc and Rolling Acres. He graduated from Robert A. Jamieson School in 1990. Jr. was also a rider of City Lift and employed at CWCT for over 20 years. He loved dining out and shopping. Even though Jr. had special needs, he displayed lots of love and was always willing to help others.
Jr. loved attending church. He was always with his loving parents, Rev. Joseph H. Cherry Sr. and Myrtlene Cherry, who is the pastor of New Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.
Jr. leaves to cherish his memory his father and mother of Peoria, one sister Brunetta (Tyrone) Garner of Millington, TN; two very special God Sisters, Gwen Cherry-Simms and Michelle Cherry; two nephews, Morgan and Blake; one niece, Tyler Garner all of Millington, TN; special aunts Lynn Williams, Johnnie M. Dunnigan and Clora A. Cherry; the best uncles in the world, John Jr., Marshall and Raymond Dunnigan of Peoria; his church family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jr. is preceded in death by his grandparents, five uncles and one aunt.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.
Gone but never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Rev. Adam Crews will speak the Eulogy. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Repast will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church following the committal services at the cemetery. Family will receive at 3418 W. Lucerne Ct. Peoria 61615.
