She was born January 14, 1934, in Maryville, TN, the daughter of Delbert and Jennie Belle (LeQuire) Hollingsworth. She married the love of her life, John Gill Barbee, Sr. on May 29, 1952, in Gallatin, TN. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2014.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Chaniott, and Mary Elizabeth Sharp; and brother, Delbert LeQuire Hollingsworth.
Surviving are her children, Melany (Bob) McMahan, Shelly (Mead) Babcock, John (Mary) Barbee, Jr., Debby (Mike) Hinrichsen, Clark Barbee, Teresa (Aron) Quist, and Michael Barbee; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Kathryne enjoyed traveling, especially to the Smoky Mountains, music, puzzles, and art. She hosted weekly dinners with her family, and was beloved by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 2PM on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to March of Dimes. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
