

Kenneth A. Eckhart, 83, of Peoria, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born in Denver, CO, on March 23, 1942, he was the son of the late Lee Maxwell and Laurena (Timm) Eckhart. Ken served in the US Navy in the Communication Department as a Cryptologist and was honorably discharged. On October 10, 1968, he married Lynne E. Deutsch; of Peoria, they celebrated 57 years of marriage, she survives.
Further surviving Ken are his children, Shawn (Mindy) Eckhart of Washington, IL, and Amy Bruns of Pekin; three grandchildren, Joshua (Lily) Eckhart of Lee’s Summit, MO, Seth Eckhart of Bloomington, IL, and Sydney Bruns of Marquette Heights; two brothers-in-law, Hal (Julia) Deutsch of Plano,TX, Robert Noer of New Brighton, MN; a sister-in-law, Pam Vermeil of Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four siblings, Wilma Forslund, Maxine Booth, Patricia Noer, and Robert Eckhart.
Ken graduated from Morton High School in Morton, Minnesota in 1960. He worked for Ozark from 1965 to 1969 then went on to work at Caterpillar for 30 years. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Services for Ken will be held privately. Interment at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
