

Larry E. Clore, age 66, passed away on January 27, 2014 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after a prolonged illness. Larry was born in Covington, KY, to Edward Clore and Marjorie Carlson Clore on October 23, 1947.
He married Karen Busing on June 22, 1968. He was preceded in death by his parents. Larry grew up in the small farming community of Melvin, IL, graduating from Melvin-Sibley High School in 1965. He then graduated from Illinois State University in 1969 with a bachelor’s in business administration, followed by a master’s degree in 1970.
After working for State Farm and in the film processing industry in Bloomington, IL, in 1975 he took a job as controller at Multi-Ad Services, Inc. in Peoria. He became executive vice president in 1980 and president in 1986. During this time, Multi-Ad had 60 employees, but by 1996 he had helped grow the company to over 600 employees. He credited the company’s success with the change from private ownership to an ESOP. He retired in 2008 but later become an owner in Monkey Joe’s of Peoria and LKG Valuation Services.
In addition to his duties as CEO and President of Multi-Ad, Larry lent his skills and expertise on many local boards. These included the Illinois State University Foundation, OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Carver Lumber and Advanced Medical Transport. In addition, he was once Chairman of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce and Treasurer of the National Organization of Printers and Lithographers.
Larry is remembered by his family as an avid boater, golfer and Illinois State University supporter. He is survived by his wife, Karen, his son Greg and daughter-in-law Kristy, as well as grandsons Kyle, Logan and Shamus. Larry also leaves behind a sister, Pat (Joe) Teno of Sibley and other family and close friends. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, as well as a teacher, mentor and friend.
Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 1 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria from 12 to 4 p.m. followed by a memorial service for friends and family. Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Illinois CancerCare Foundation, Illinois State University Foundation or Illinois State University athletics.
