Lawrence Dean Clarke, 89 of West Peoria, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Unity Point Proctor Hospital in Peoria. Born April 9, 1926 in Elmira, IL to James E. and Ruby (Nortman) Clarke; he married Kathryn Dvornicki on February 14, 1948 in Peoria and she preceded him in death on May 3, 2010. Also preceding in death were his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Surviving are his caregivers, Lynette, Sharon and Towanda White; nephew Roger Carrington and niece Jessica VanDuyn. Dean was a WWII US Navy Veteran serving from 1944-46 aboard an aircraft carrier supply ship in the south Pacific. He retired from Keystone Steel & Wire in 1984 after 20 years and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Peoria Moose Lodge #1920 and Elks Post 20. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Monday, December 14, 2015 at Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria. The Rev. Karl Eckhoff will officiate. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church.
