She was born on February 2, 1963 in Canton, IL, a daughter of Max D. Graham Sr. and Mildred “Peg” (Mitchell) Graham. Lisa married Todd H. Swalve on October 27, 1995, and together they share a daughter, Carlee Paige Swalve. Todd and Carlee survive. She later married the love of her life, Greg Glowski, on May 1, 2016 in Groveland, IL. He survives.
Lisa is also survived by three sisters, Rhonda (Doug) Nohren of Mesa, AZ; Sharon (Jim) Raderstorf of Phoenix, AZ; Peggy (Tom) Custer of Bloomington, IL, and one brother, Duane (Ginger) Graham of Lewistown, IL. She also leaves behind a great number of nieces and nephews.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred “Peg” Graham, and her father Max D. Graham Sr.
Lisa spent her grade school years in El Paso, IL. She later moved to Bloomington where she was a graduate of Bloomington High School, Class of 1981. She went on to get her cosmetology license from the International Beauty Academy in 1982.
Lisa worked as a hairstylist, and in her words, “an unofficial therapist,” for 42 years. She thoroughly enjoyed caring for each and every one of her clients, many of them becoming close, lifelong friends. She had a gift of charisma that could make anyone’s day brighter.
Lisa’s greatest passion in life began when her grandchildren were born. Carlee’s son, Everett, and daughter, Vada, were the lights of her life. She was a deeply loving “Gaga” to her grandbabies, from cheering at soccer games to making chalk masterpieces; from family vacations to snuggly sleepovers, Lisa did it all for them. Everett and Vada both survive.
She was a member of The Door/La Puerta Christian Fellowship in Phoenix, AZ, where her brother-in-law Jim Raderstorf is the pastor.
Lisa was the greatest fighter and fiercest warrior you would ever meet. She battled chronic health issues beginning at the age of 8 that ultimately led to heart valve disease, multiple open-heart surgeries, radiation heart disease, and heart failure. She also survived kidney cancer and spent her last few months on dialysis. Through it all, Lisa persevered and continued to be as present as possible for her family and friends. She fought her battle until the day the Lord called her home.
Lisa's memorial visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. There will be a private graveside service in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton at a later date.
