

Lois was born on October 31, 1934 in Peoria, a daughter of William Hamilton and Freda (Showalter) Hamilton. They preceded her in death, along with her stepfather, George Nellinger; sister, Dody Wright; brothers, Ken and Bill Hamilton; husband, William Martin; and son, Stephen Martin.
She married William (Bill) Martin on August 24, 1957 in Chicago. They lived in Peoria and were married for 54 years. She is survived by her children, Robert (Cecilia) Martin of Peoria Heights, Debra Clendenen of Pekin, James (Judith) Martin of Washington, and Daughter-In-Law, Deborah Martin of Ottawa.
Lois was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and election judge for her community. She passed in her sleep at OSF St. Francis after a long fulfilling life caring for others
Lois enjoyed cooking, baking, cheering for the Chicago Bears, and shopping for deals. She loved the holidays and having family gatherings. Lois was a dedicated wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Her pride and joy were her four children, nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She will be remembered for the love she gave to her family and her friendly personality. She will be missed by all who met her.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lois's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
A private graveside service will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
