PEORIA - Lonnie Ray King, 85, of Peoria passed away Thursday, Feb. 19. 2015, at Heartland Health Care Center in Peoria.He was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Muscle Shoals, Ala., to Charles F. and Ruby Ann (Smith) King. He married Margaret A. Seibert on Dec. 16, 1968, in St. Louis, Mo. She survives of Peoria.Also surviving are his son, Wayne (Rebecca) King of East Peoria; stepdaughter, Laura (Daniel) Krentz of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1947 to 1953. He was a member of the American Legion Post 2 in Peoria.Lonnie owned and operated several restaurants in Peoria over the years, most notably Fosco's on Western Avenue and Lonnie's River City, through which he operated the King's Catering. Later in life, he enjoyed playing guitar and singing with friends.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. The Rev. Bob DeBolt will officiate. Military funeral honors will be presented by American Legion Post 2. Private burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or American Legion Post 2.
