

She was born at home on Christmas Eve, 1932 in Bartonville, IL the fifth of ten children born to William and Bessie (Gordon) Durham. She married Leslie Burge, in 1954 and divorced in 1961. She later married Donald L. Shaw on November 27, 1965 in Peoria, IL. He survives.
Also surviving is her son, Richard Burge of Peoria, two step-daughters, Diana (Kevin) Huprich of Farmington and Annette (Brett) West of Farmington, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are seven siblings, Katy (Bernard) Stolen of East Peoria, Gloria Raef of PA, Rebecca Kiefer of Peoria, David D. (Mary Lou) Durham of Bartonville, Ronald L. (Karen) Durham of Bartonville, Steven M. Durham of California and Carol Sue (David) Rivers of Michigan, and far too many nieces and nephews to list.
Lucille was preceded in death by two brothers and her daughter –in-law Gena Burge.
Lucille attended Bartonville Grade School, and managed to stay in contact with several of her class mates. She graduated from Illini Bluff High School and stayed active in the Alumni and with the Scholarship fund.
She worked for a few years at IV Die and Molding before going back to school and receiving her LPN license. She worked at Methodist Hospital for seven years in the Obstetrics Department . Lucille left Methodist to work for the State of Illinois as a nursing home monitor.
Lucille worked as a Registered Nurse at Zeller Mental Center for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Illinois Nurses Association, the Peoria Moose Lodge, AFSCME and the ISEA Retirees.
A celebration of life will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services also at the funeral home.
Cremation rites will be accorded. .
