Margaret A. Mason

She was born July 14, 1934 in Peoria to Paul E. and Agnes (Izzatt) Fehl. She married Arnold E. “Corky” Mason on September 5, 1953 in Peoria. He died October 18, 1983 in Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Randy Mason, two sisters, and two brothers.

Surviving is one son Mark (Valarie) Mason of Peoria; one daughter Denise (Ben) Short of Peoria; one brother Walter (Loretta) Fehl of Peoria; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Nicholas, Sarah, Samuel; six great-grandchildren; and her long time companion with whom she made her home, Charles Defreitas of Morton.

Margie was a graduate of the Manual High School class of 1952. She worked at the Book Emporium for many years and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Peoria.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her nieces and nephews always looked forward to going over to Aunt Margie’s house. She touched many lives and will forever be missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M., Monday January 31, 2011 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Father Terry Cassidy will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 P.M., Sunday at the chapel. Rosary will be read at 3:40 P.M., Sunday prior to the visitation. Cremation will be accorded. Burial of her ashes will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
