
She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years George Golden, her sister Teresa Youngblood, her three brothers Ludwig, Pierre, and Schoschel Wimmer. As well as her granddaughter Alayna Golden.
Maria leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Sandra(Gary) Betts and son Pat(Lisa) Golden, three grandchildren Michael, Kristina, and Matthew, and four great grandchildren Gage, Macy, Mia, and Eli.
Growing up, Maria experienced the horrors of World War II in Germany. In 1957 Maria Immigrated to the United States from Germany with her daughter. In August of 1959 she married her husband George Golden. She worked many years at St. Francis Hospital in the premature baby ward. Eventually moving onto a job at Caterpillar which she retired from in 1989. She continued to work as a crossing guard for district 150 for many years. Maria was very active at Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen, and worked as a tailor with proceeds going to St. Jude Catholic Church. She would also knit many scarves, hats, mittens, and socks for the homeless up until the time of her passing. She lived a very fulfilling life and touched many souls.
