She was born in Springfield, IL, on April 18, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Russell Lentz and Juanita (Turner) Lentz. On June 13, 1970, she married Gaylord Lynn Gard. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2005.
Surviving Mary are her three children, Brian (Katie) Gard, Andrew Gard, and Sarah (Steve) Solesky; siblings, Rev. Lawrence Lentz, CSV, Laura Mascarella-Carty, and Michael Lentz; and nephew, Ryan Lentz. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Gaylord G. and Lora Jeanne Bradley Gard.
Mary enjoyed retirement playing pickleball, collecting art, and spending time with friends.
