She was born October 26, 1967 in Peoria, the daughter of Melvin and Vicki Ray Bohm.
Melissa is survived by her mother, Vicki Mitchum of East Peoria; three sons, Jacob Elias of Chillicothe, Christian Gent of N. Hollywood, CA, and Adam Pollock of N Carolina; two sisters, Penny (Dave) O’Day of Bartonville, and Nona Fuller of East Peoria; three brothers, Kirk Bohm of Creve Coeur, Jamie Bohm of Tennessee, and Derek “Bo” Bohm of Creve Coeur; and her boyfriend, James McGinnes whom she made a home with.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Melissa loved loving, helping people, nurturing, preaching the Christian faith, spending time with family and friends, and all animals.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Christian Assembly Church 521 NE Monroe, Peoria, IL from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016. Memorial service will follow.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a fund at Heights Bank for her sons.
