Mel was just a good person to know. He always had a smile and a kind way about him.  May the faith that he is with the Lord be aa comfort to his family;

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Plattner I have a lot of good memories talking to your dad on the driveway of your home. As a matter of fact last July I was in Peoria visiting Tom Dubois and knocked on your door no one was home . What a nice and humble man he was, he will be missed God let him rest in peace.

I am so very blessed to live next door to the Plattners.  They are a kind and gracious couple.  And, their son, Kevin and his wife, Karen, have been frequent and, most recently, constant visitors.

I am sad that Melvin has passed, however, I know that Melvin lived and Mardell  lives a humble life with God as their center.  They will meet, again, in His paradise.

May Melvin rest in His peace.

So sorry to hear of Mel's passing. I will always remember his friendliness and his warm smile. Sympathies to the family and may the faith that Melvin is with the Lord give you comfort and reassurance.

Uncle Melvin laid a beautiful stone path and transplanted many trees in our yard. I alway enjoyed the precious time we shared as we worked together. 
Steven said they shared so many precious memories as they worked side by side together for so many years. 
We will miss his precious smile and gentle spirit. We love you all so much💞🙏🙏💞

Uncle Melvin was always so patient & kind when he and Aunt Mardy would watch our kids. He never seemed to be in a hurry and they would love it when they got to ride in the "jump seats" of his little blue pick-up truck!  He taught them many things from singing the A,B,C's backwards and forwards, riding a 2 wheel bike, picking and watering the perfect tomatoes, and telling jokes to solving math problems and playing checkers. He seemed to know how to fix anything and if not, he could improvise. We will miss Uncle Melvin dearly and his contagious smile that knew no enemy; but we rejoice that he has finally met Jesus in his new heavenly home!
