Michael D. Buffum, 64, of Peoria passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at his home. Born September 7, 1951 in Peoria to Max and Cecile (Hanamean) Buffum; he married Marilyn K. (Bennett) Keller on December 20, 1980 in Canton, IL and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2010. Also preceding in death were his brother, Richard Bessler and sister, Tammie Buffum. Surviving are his step-sons, Al Keller of Marquette Heights, Mike (Elisa) Keller of Peoria, Daniel (Brian) Keller of Norfolk, VA and Mark (Sheila) Keller of Mackinaw, IL; son, Michael Hobbs of Phoenix, AZ ; daughter, Wendy Koch of Muscatine, IA; granddaughters, Nicole and Seven Keller; his sister, Cheryl Buban of Canton; and his brothers, Robert (Valerie) Buffum of Dunlap, Ronald (Trina) Buffum of Peoria and Tom (Kelly) Buffum of Princeville. He was a retired laborer through Local 165 in the construction trades. Mike loved camping and enjoyed spending time at the Allendale Conservation Club. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, July 28th at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, July 27th at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
