He was born Nov. 9, 1931 in Peoria to George and Evelyn (Lewis) Gallagher. He married Sarah Elwell on April 14, 1956 in Peoria. She passed away August, 1, 2004 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include one daughter, Teresa (Dennis) White of Washington, IL, one son, Dan (Rosalie) Gallagher of Lander, WY, four grandchildren: Leslie (Nora Robinson) Culpepper of Mill City, OR, Melissa (Ron) Cascella of Seattle, WA, Jacob (Kit Mitchell) Gallagher of Lander, WY, Jesse (Sarah) White of Washington, IL, two great-grandchildren: C.J. Robinson, Juliette Robinson-Culpepper, and one brother, Pat (Judy) Gallagher of Peoria.
Mike was a United States Army Veteran serving as an Internal Guidance Technician from 1952 through 1954. Following his time in the military he went to work for RG LeTourneau and retired in 1995 from then Komatsu-Dresser as a Senior Design Engineer.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peoria, the Herman Lowery Pekin RC Club, and the NRA.
A funeral mass will be Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peoria. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the services. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
