

She was born on April 20, 1915 in El Paso, Illinois to Arthur and Eva Marie (Lewis) Faulk. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Valerie Hope Landsman; and her sister, Ruby Reynolds.
Surviving are her daughter, Vickie (Gary) Poynter of Knox County; five grandchildren, Justin (Sara) Poynter, Rory Poynter, Matthew Landsman, Darcy (John) Lawrence, Tim (Angela) Poynter; and two great-grandchildren.
Monica graduated in 1934 from Peoria Manual High School. She served as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II, receiving the American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal before being honorable discharged in 1944. She worked as an Office Clerk for Caterpillar Inc. for many years, retiring to Boca Raton, Florida in 1977. She returned to East Peoria in 2002, and enjoyed life with her friends at Riverview. Monica was a member of Glen Oak Christian Church in Peoria; then Boca West United Methodist Church in Boca Raton, Florida; and then became a member of the East Peoria United Methodist Church.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
