

Nancy was born on September 5, 1946, in Monmouth, IL. She was the seventh of nine children born to Thomas and Lottie (Barron) Stewart.
She married John Edward Cook on October 10, 1964, in Peoria, IL. He survives.
Preceding her in death along with her parents were six siblings: William, Grace Noble, David Sr., Stanley, Jerry Sr., and Thomas Jr.
Surviving are her four children, John Edward Cook, Jr of Peoria, IL, Tricia (David) Nycz of South Bend, IN, Lori (Carl) Stenger of Kansas City, MO, and Jane Cook (David Galovits, Jr.) of Ponca City, OK. Nine grandchildren: Shaun and Cortney Cook; Bradley, Kayla and Jonathan Cook; Jenny Osborn and Benjamin Rogers Jr.; Ronnie and Christopher Jr. Wainscott; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters Judy (Richard, Sr.) Thomas of Canton, IL and Pamela (Gregory) Wooden of Peoria, IL.; sisters-in-law: Debbie Stewart Gore, Patricia DeFreitas, Sandra (Gene) Williams and Barb Cook; several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
Nancy worked as a CNA with Circle of Life Home Care and Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria.
She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She also loved watching “Little House on the Prairie.” As a young lady, she enjoyed dancing and listening to her favorite music. Although she stopped dancing a while ago, she still loved her music. She was a long-time member of Maranatha Baptist Church.
A private graveside service will be held at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria, officiated by Pastor Bernie Augsburger. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel oversees arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Gift of Hope Organ Donation program.
