

Paula M. Knaus, 44, of Peoria, passed away quietly at 1: 10 AM, Saturday, July 28, 2012 at OSF St. Francis in the presence of her family. She was born March 19, 1968 in Peoria to Stanley and Paula Knaus. She was preceded in death by her father and older brother Tony. She is survived by her mother; her son, Zak of Peoria; older sister, Stanica (Jeff) Mech of Trinity, Fl.; brothers, Joe, Stanley "Stanch" of Peoria, Marion "Babe" of Tampa, Fl.; niece Emily Knaus of Pekin; nephews Adam Knaus of Pekin, Mike Hardy of Tampa, Fl., Steve Hardy, Ft. Meyers, Fl. Paula was a hard-working single mother fully devoted to her career and especially to her son, Zak. She was a small business owner operating The Hair Gallery at Campustown in Peoria from 1999 until 2010 when she sold the salon. Her last affiliation was with Joann's Metropole in Peoria. Paula was passionate about her career and looked upon her clients as favorite friends. The Knaus family is very grateful to all of Paula's many friends, clients and acquaintances and the family wishes to thank all those who gave her their incredible support displaying such compassion and warmth during her difficult struggle with ovarian cancer. A Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Peoria. Fr. Terry Cassidy will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at the parental site.
