Raymond Heffron Peoria, IL Raymond H. Heffron, 74, of Peoria, passed away at 11:25 pm on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at his home in Peoria surrounded by his family and friends. He was born February 23, 1938 in Peoria, IL to Raymond E. and Eunice J. (Rentz) Heffron. He married A. Faye Rowland March 21, 1958 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2004. He then married Zona Fisher August 5, 2010 in East Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roger Heffron, and one step-brother. Surviving are his wife Zona of Peoria, three children Randy Heffron of Creve Coeur; Rhonda Greer of Clinton, IL; and Rae Heffron of Peoria; three step-daughters, Kendra Ewing and Rhonda (Joe) Walker both of Peoria and Laura “Dawn” (Tom) Lane of East Peoria. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one step-brother, Steve Cheney of Iowa and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Raymond worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years before retiring in 1998 and was a member of the Caterpillar Retirees Club and the UAW Local 974. A visitation will be Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. A funeral will be Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Jack Beard will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to a charity of the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
