

Revie L. Mordue, 75, of Valley View, TX, formally of Peoria, IL passed away on Friday October 8, 2010 from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Valley View, TX. He was born August 19, 1935 in Peoria, IL the son of Robert and Ann Mordue. He married Darlene Le Roy of Peoria on October 17, 1954 in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife of Valley View, TX, their four children; Linda Mordue of Peoria, Kim (John) Carruthers of Peoria, Keith Mordue of East Peoria, and Heidi (Bryon) Bailey of Valley View, TX. Revie is also survived by eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and his sister Marla Stuart of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jerry Mordue.
Revie graduated from Peoria Central High School. He worked as a truck driver all of his life until retiring in 1999. He was a member of Teamsters Local #627. “Skidrow” loved driving his Peterbilt semi; he was on his way to a Peterbilt show when the accident occurred. He logged literally over 1 million miles accident free in his career. Revie and Darlene own and operate Mordue Quarter Horses, originally based out of Brimfield, IL until relocating to Texas in 2004. They have raised, shown and sold several Multiple A.Q.H.A. Futurity Champions, R.O.M. Earners and A.Q.H.A. winning show horses in Halter, Western and English Pleasure throughout the years all over the United States. They stood the well known A.Q.H.A. stallion “Charlies Out of Oil” who went on to sire multiple winners in several events as well as multiple World Champion I.B.H.A. Halter horses. Revie took pride in working hard and providing for his family. He had a great love for his dogs and all animals. He enjoyed watching ball games and especially attending his grandson’s games. Revie knew and loved his lord and savior Jesus Christ, who he is now at home with for an eternity.
Services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday October 19, 2010 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, IL. Pastor John King of Riverside Community Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery. A gathering will follow at Riverside Community Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch, www.sharkarosa.com, a special place that helps to rescue and rehabilitate exotic animals and offers public interaction.
