

Peoria – Richard Lee Ball, 71, of Peoria, IL passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Richard was born January 23, 1942 in Peoria, IL to Lloyd and Hazel (Siltman) Ball. He married Billie Mathus on March 3, 1959 in Hanna City, IL.
Surviving is his wife Billie Ball of Peoria, IL, three daughters: Christine (Michael) Tyre of Troy, IL, Cathy Ball of Peoria, IL, and Colletta (Scott) Ball of Glen Ellyn, IL, son Craig Richard Ball of Peoria, IL, four grandchildren: Krista, Luke, Natalie, and Steven, two sisters: Ruth Ann (Mark) Kenney of Peoria, IL and Judy (Steve) Heintz of Peoria, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard worked at Pabst Brewing Company for seventeen years and later went into business as an owner of Rube’s Tap in Peoria, IL for over twenty years.
Richard loved his daughters more than life itself and couldn’t have been more proud of all three of them. The other light of his life was his only son, Craig “Dude” who was his lifelong sidekick and best buddy.
Richard was an avid fisherman, hunter, animal lover, and king of the backyard barbeque. A great day for him was sitting in the backyard cooking out, with his family and friends, listening to old Hank Williams. Richard loved life and turned every occasion into a full blown celebration.
Visitation will be from 1 – 3 pm Friday, July 19, 2013 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Services will be held at 3 pm Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery.
