Richard Gorman

was born January 21,1931 to John P. and Gertrude Noyes Gorman in Bradford, Illinois. He married Verlinda Abell on November 10, 1951. She preceded him in

death on July 2,1981. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one son.

He married Ruth Ann Stratton on October 26, 2007. She survives. His other survivors include his six children, Terrie of Peoria, Stephen (Debra) of

Frisco, TX, Camille (Charlie) of Wyoming, Susan, Joanne, and John (Ellen), all of Peoria; 2 step-children, Mark (Janna) Stiles of McCarley, MS and Juli Ann

Stratton of Post Falls, ID; 5 grandchildren, Samantha Waldinger of Peoria, Katie (Adam) Stenavich of Houston, TX, Lindy (Josh) Wilcox of McKinney, TX, Mark

Gorman of Frisco, TX, and Briana Gorman of Peoria; 3 step-grandchildren, Jacob Retz of Peoria, Mark and Mitchell Stiles of McCarley, MS; 2 great-grandchildren,

Lily Wilcox of McKinney, TX and Hadley Stenavich of Houston, TX; one brother, Dr. James (Janet) Gorman of Chatham, IL, and one sister-in-law, Ann Barkley of

South Bend, IN. Pete was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He founded Gorman Typesetting, Inc. in 1969 and operated it in the Peoria area until he retired.

Services will be held at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Peoria, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 with a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Bradford. Arrangements are being handled by Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services of Mountain Home, AR and Wilton Woolsey Funeral Home of Peoria.

Memorials may be made to St Vincent DePaul Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
