He was born January 11, 1956 in Peoria to Robert and Irma (Gillham) Gillan. He married Sue Bohm on February 17, 1979 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are their two children, Jason (Danielle Dozard) Gillan and Jenny (Jared Chase) Gillan both of Peoria; four grandchildren, Brayden, Andrew, Caleb, and Ryleigh; two siblings, Terri Gillan and Ronald (Linda) Gillan both of Bartonville and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rick worked at Sears as a service technician for 18 years and then worked as a Facility Manager with AECOM for nearly 20 years retiring in January 2020. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to spend time with his family, family game nights and drinking beer with his buddies.
A service will be Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 7 pm with visitation from 5 pm until the start of the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Cremation will follow the service and a burial of the urn will be at a later date.
