He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rick was a Vietnam War veteran. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University in 1972. In 2004, after 26 years of service, he retired from District 150 as the Director of Payroll and Benefits. He also served on the Board of Directors at Redbrand Credit Union.
He was a member of Arrowhead Country Club.
Rick had lots of fun and lots of great memories of his early years playing racquetball and softball with his friends. All his life he had a love and passion for the game of golf. His most precious memories were with his family, friends, and golf buddies. Rick loved playing games with his family. He missed his calling as a poker player and as a bingo caller. If truth be told, he passed up the opportunity to become a back-up singer with the Supreme’s. Rick’s family has requested that all those who attend his visitation and memorial service come dressed in their golf attire as a tribute to him and his love for the game.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Monday at the chapel. Cremation will be accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, or American Heart Association.
