He was born June 18, 1931 in Peoria to Harry and Kathryn (Stuart) Porter.
Surviving are; his children, Robert L (Nancy) Porter of Pekin, George, Richard and Gary Porter, all of Peoria, and Ronald (Sue) Porter of Bartonville; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several cousins and his trusty yellow lab “Awesome Harry”.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, great granddaughter, Bryanna Porter and brother, William L. Porter.
Bob retired from CILCO as a Line Patrolman in 1992 after 39 years of service.
He was an Army veteran serving in Korea and a member of the VFW in Peoria.
Bob loved fishing, especially at the CILCO Blue Lakes near Canton and on trips to Texas. He enjoyed family time with his children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, December 26, 2014 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. The Rev. Dr. Curt D. Keller will officiate. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
