Robert D. Swartz

Born March 30, 1927 in Canton, IL to Clifford and Gladys (Dancy) Swartz; he married Elizabeth “Betty” Buescher on September 28, 1952 in Danvers, IL. She preceded him in death along with his sister, Marilyn Hinton.

Surviving are his brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” (Barb) Buescher of Morton, IL; sister-in-law, Dixie (Don) Cox of Ft. Myers, FL; nephews, Brian Cox and Eric Buescher; and nieces, Jennifer Rudak and Anne Marie Adkins.

Robert was a US Navy veteran.

He retired as a Supervisor from Caterpillar, Inc. with over 40 years of service.

He was a graduate of Peoria Central High School, a Mason, Shriner and member of the United Presbyterian Church in Peoria.

Robert and Betty spent many years in the Northern Oaks neighborhood of Groveland and cherished the friendships and memories made there.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with visitation 30 minutes prior to the service. The Rev. Anna Saxon will officiate. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Proctor Place.
