Ronald Newton Capron, 89, of Edwards, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Born in Peoria, on April 10, 1936, he was the son of the late Loren and Ida Mae (Boyer) Capron. On February 16, 1958, he married Genevieve Lowery in Dunlap.
Surviving Ron is his wife, Genevieve Capron; two daughters, Brenda (Joe) Goett and Linda (Mike) Shawhan; four grandsons, Lee (Veronica) Goett, Nick (Jill) Goett, Clint (Alexandria) Shawhan, and Clay (Katie) Shawhan; six great-grandchildren, Warren, Madilyn, Atlas, Willow, Evren, and Haze; and two brothers, Stanley (Vickie) Capron and Kenny (Sandy) Capron. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Loren Capron.
Ron was employed as an Operating Engineer for Local 649 for over 60 years. He loved Oliver Tractors and spending time with his family.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
