

Rosemary Louise Farris, age 95, of Peoria, Illinois, passed on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Liberty Village of Pekin. Born and raised in Peoria, Rosemary lived a life devoted to family, faith, and caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Loren Farris, to whom she was married for 58 years, and by her son, John Farris. She is survived by her children Loren Farris (Deborah), Lori Salvati, and Brad Farris (Kerry); eight cherished grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Rosemary was a deeply loving and compassionate woman whose greatest joy came from making others smile. Known for her wonderful sense of humor, her love of community, and her ability to always give others the benefit of the doubt, Rosemary left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She devoted more than 43 years to caring for her son John, who lived with cerebral palsy, while also helping manage the family businesses, including Duraclean Carpet Cleaning and the family’s real estate ventures. In her later years, she continued working with Jim Maloof Realty, reflecting her strong work ethic and independent spirit.
Rosemary was the last living survivor of Yakoff’s South End Tavern, which was run by the Yakoff family until 1987, an important part of Peoria’s local history. A devoted Catholic, she was a longtime member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Peoria.
Her home was the heart of family and friendship, and her door was always open. Rosemary created a welcoming space where friends and family gathered, laughed, and felt truly at home.
Her life will be remembered for its kindness, generosity, faith, and unwavering love for others.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
