Sally Moran J. Ridgely, 72, of Peoria, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born on February 19, 1949 in Peoria, a daughter of William D. and Shirley (Moran) Ridgely.
Sally is survived by her brother, William “Billy” (Shelly) Ridgely of Florida; her sister, Diane Daniliuk of Florida; her niece, Jody (Jeff) Thieman of Florida; and her nephew Jay Daniliuk of Sri Lanka. She is also survived by her grand nieces Sydney and Avery Thieman, of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria.
Sally dedicated her life to helping others as a health care worker in Illinois and Colorado, most recently as a member of the nursing team at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Sally was a huge Denver Broncos fan and loved seeing the Rocky Mountains from her home in Denver before returning to Peoria in 2021. She also cherished spending time with friends and family on her many trips to Mexico.
Sally’s memorial mass will take place at 11:00 am Saturday, May 28, 2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria. Rev. Fr. Thomas Taylor will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in West Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Midwest Affiliate or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
