

He was born June 30, 1970 in Vientiane, Laos to An Van and Huong N. (Nguyen) Phan. He married Janell L. Mixell in Peoria, IL on June 19, 1993. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Peoria; two daughters, Carissa Lauren Phan, age 5, Felicia Makenzie Phan, age 3; and two sisters, Thuy Xuan (and Frank) Patterson of Kenosha, WI, Huyen (Melissa) Thanh Phan of New York, NY.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Luu Van Phan and Sinh Thi Tuong; and maternal grandparents, Hy Nguyen and Thuoc Thi Nguyen.
Sang worked at Caterpillar Inc. as Services Marketing Manager North American Commercial Division – Parts and Services Marketing. He was an All State Soccer Player for Peoria High School and received a full scholarship for soccer at Bradley University. A Black Belt in Tao Kwon Do he was a three time Gold Medal Midwest Winner and Junior Olympics Gold Medal Winner. He loved golf, and experiencing all types of food. But his true love was spending time with his 2 princesses, Carissa and Felicia. He was a member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Peoria.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. H.B. Mooney III officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorial donations may be made to the “Friends of Sang Phan Memorial Fund” at any CEFCU for his children’s education.
