Shirley attended the First United Presbyterian Church in Pekin and was a strong believer in the power of prayer, as well as a faithful woman who enjoyed the singing and community of the church.
Shirley was a former Deacon, Elder and was a sponsor with LOGOS. She was also active in The Heart of Illinois Chorus of Peoria.
After high school, she got married and worked for Ralph Bear Photography until they closed and then worked for Peoria Camera Shop for many years.
Shirley had many hobbies that included reading, gardening, cooking, and baking. She loved to bake for the neighbors and church. She was always willing to help out whenever needed. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and was her children's and grandchildren’s biggest supporter. She loved cheering them on in various sports and activities from basketball to baseball, volleyball, softball, cheerleading and music. Her children and grandchildren always knew she was there. Shirley loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs. The love she shared with all of us will last in our hearts forever.
