He was born on Dec. 27, 1971, in Galesburg, IL, to Bruce and Carol Anne (Stevens) Spencer.
Survivors include his siblings, Edward (Alison) Spencer of Wauconda, IL, Maria (Kyle) Campbell of Rochelle, IL, and Matthew (Janelle) Spencer of Dunlap, IL; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Anne Sperry; and nephew, Paul Alan Winter.
Steven graduated from Galesburg High School in 1990 and Bradley University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems in 1994.
Most recently, he worked at Dunlap High School as a teacher’s aide. Previously, he had worked at Caterpillar, IBM and the State of Illinois, where he used his Computer Science Degree.
He was a member of Bradley Epworth United Methodist Church and Peoria Frisbee Club and was an Eagle Scout.
Steven enjoyed his Christian Fellowship groups, Riverman Hockey, the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, quietly beating his siblings at a variety of card games and, most of all, spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, 2408 W. Willow Knolls Drive, Peoria. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sister’s Charity at OSF, AMT or Richwoods Christian Church.
