He was born Aug. 27, 1939 in East Peoria to William and Julia (Pribble) Russell. He married Janet King on June 27, 1959 in Peoria. Janet and Tom just celebrated 59 years of marriage. She survives along with one daughter, Julie Boland of Peoria, two sons: Thomas (Georgette) Russell of Chillicothe, Michael (Ellen) Russell of Peoria Heights, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Donald (Patti) Russell of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, Jerry Russell.
Tom graduated from Manual Training High School in 1957. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 40 years in Dealer Data Processing and Installations.
Tom enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, blacksmithing, and attending flea markets. He loved grilling and smoking food which was always enjoyed by his family.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Best at Heart Care Midwest for his care and concerns. Also OSF Home Hospice so Tom could be at home during his declining health. And a special thank you to Nurse Susan and CNA Angie.
Private graveside services will be held in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
