

Voda was born to Martin and Mabel Engquist-Heindselman on November 24, 1917. She married Robert Miller who died shortly after. She was then married to Dallas Cochran for 25 years.
Voda is survived by a foster son, David Taylor of Morton; one brother Robert Heindselman and one sister Maxine Keith both of Peoria; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, an adopted son Dean Cochran, one sister Jane Kagel, one infant brother Bill, and one infant daughter Margaret Ann.
In her young life she worked as a tailor. She devoted her working years and much of her life to mentally challenged children working for PARC (EPIC) as a teacher. She loved every minute of her time with PARC and volunteered at the Apostolic Home for the Handicapped in Morton. She also volunteered at the Children’s Home and Saint Francis Hospital.
She was a very loving person and had many people who loved her dearly. She will be missed greatly.
She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Peoria where her funeral will be on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services. Rev. Dr. James Lillie and her nephew Rev. Ron Rasmus will officiate.
The family wishes to thank the Methodist Hospital Hospice team, Methodist Hospital Palliative Care, and the lovely nurses and CNA’s at Courtyard Estates for their kindness and care of Voda.
Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Home for the Handicapped in Morton; her church, First English Lutheran Church or Methodist Hospital Hospice.
