

He was born on June 5, 1930, in Peoria, IL to William and Anna (Humphrey) Wright. He married Beverly on May 17, 1952 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving is their two children, Rebecca "Becky" Wright of Woodbury, MN and William "Bill" (Jacqueline) Wright of Boone, NC; three grandchildren, William "Brent" (Meredith) Wright of Raleigh, NC, Janell Wright of Atlanta, GA, and Kari (Lisandro Hernandez) Wright of Burlington, NC; and four great-grandchildren, William Connor Wright, Carson David Wright, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Wright, and Eva Hernandez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenneth and Orville "Jim" Wright and three sisters, Mary, Lillus and Irene.
Bill was a 1949 graduate for Woodruff High School. He served in the Air National Guard for eight years. Bill worked at Fleming - Potter Printing Company for 38 years in the printing department, pre-press manager and President of Webcote before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria for 73 years, where he was an Elder and representative the of Missions, worked with the youth groups and other church organizations. Bill served on the Board of Directors for Camp Good News, where he helped build buildings at the camp. He also served with Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child for over 15 years and was awarded the "Servant Of The Year" from the Christian Center in Peoria.
Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11 am with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. A private family burial of the urn will be at Parkview Cemetery at a later date. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
