We could never say enough but here are a few things:
Mom was the most kind, loving, generous and selfless mom anyone could ask for.
Mom was the most treasured dearest friend to many.
But that’s not all. She became everyone’s mom, especially Tony Burgett, Don Bryant, Randy Jones and our little sister Gudrun from Austria; and that’s only to name a few.
She loved anyone who called her “mom”.
When my brother Chuck and I hurt, she hurt. She cried when we cried, and laughed when we laughed. She always lifted us up in life’s disappointments.
When mom was young, she was training to be an opera singer; but then, she fell in love with our handsome dad, got married, and started our family. Mom kept singing and became part of the church choir. She often was invited to sing at many of our cousins weddings over the years, and boy could she sing with that beautiful voice of hers.
Sadly, our mom never had many grandchildren. However, she loved dogs and became a grandma to many four-legged kids. She babysat Chuck’s and my dogs many times. They all absolutely understood the name “grandma” and “grandma’s house”.
While working as the head cook for Perris Unified School District, the teachers and staff would love her “off menu” homemade dishes: soup, pasta, mac and cheese just to name a few. So many times, the school staff would say, “What yah got special for us today, Mary?”
She loved that!!!
Because she knew how hard and tirelessly they worked, and mom was lovingly concerned about their welfare.
“What a big heart mom had.”
Our mom was a faithful servant to our Lord in her acts and deeds. She prayed continuously to the “Father” and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Monsignor Tom called her “Saint Mary”.
Now, they are together in heaven as Monsignor only passed a couple of months ago.
“Mom, we know your reward in heaven will be great!!!”
“Our precious mother, we love you with all our hearts.”
