Passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025. Al (Ab) was born in Toronto on September 7, 1931, to William and Mollie. He married Gloria Gorassi, in 1954, and has now reunited with her and their son, Louis.
Al is deeply missed by his daughter Lori, son-in-law John, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren Jonathan, Victoria, Elouise, and Merrill, and Michael, Sierra, Georgina, and Louis.
Family and friends were at the centre of Al’s life. He cherished time spent with loved ones, travelling the world with Gloria, and cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays. Al knew every street and laneway of downtown Toronto from his many years delivering milk for Donlands Dairy and later Neilson’s, until his retirement. He gave generously of his time, supporting countless children through five decades of volunteer service with the East York Hockey Association as a coach, executive, and familiar face behind the snack bar.
A celebration of Al’s life will be held in Spring; please contact the family for details. Donations in Al’s memory may be made to Hospice Peterborough, whose compassionate care meant so much to Al’s family in his final days.
