David will be missed by his loving wife Sherrill of 62 years, his 3 children: Susan (Miles), Douglas and Tony (Dana) and his grandchildren: Devon (Alex), Corbin, Brenton, Adelaide and Makenna (2 sets of twins and a singleton)
David had a long career in Montreal with RCA but then moved to more interesting positions after the move to Toronto. His favorite jobs were anything to do with computer science.
David was an avid badminton player and met his future bride, Sherrill Mowat at the Montreal Badminton and Squash Club. He also loved running which he took up at the young age of 50 and only took off the running shoes when he was 91.
David and Sherrill loved travelling mostly on cruise ships. They have been all over the world with friends and family.
David was the first commodore of the Stony Lake Yacht Club and he passed along his love of Stony Lake, sailing, animals and travelling to his children and grandchildren. David had an insatiable quest for knowledge, often picking up books on quantum physics for some light reading.
David could fix anything, there was never a repairman in their house or cottage. Friends would drop off their appliances for repair which he found fun.
A celebration of life will be held next summer at his beloved Shota (Stony Lake) where he spent 97 summers.
David started donating blood when he was in the Canadian army and donated 100+ times over his lifetime earning him a gold Red Cross pin. In lieu of flowers please donate blood OR donate to https://www.blood.ca/en/ways-donate/financial-donations.
