It is with unmeasurable sadness and disbelief that we announce the sudden passing at home of Andrew Monig, at his residence on September 29th, 2024 at the age of 64.
Andy was much loved and will be sadly missed by family, friends and colleagues. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Carolyn (Shea) of 28 years, his father Peter Monig (Amanda) and brother Peter (Butch) Monig (Jacqui), his many brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews. Beloved son of the late Rose Daddazio.
Andy wore many hats, but the most important to him was son, brother, husband, uncle, and friend.
He rarely said ‘no’ and was there to help, either by lending the tool for the job or being right in the middle of it. He had a kind and generous heart and those around him knew they could count on him. Andy, with his easy-going demeanor and passion for life, his ability to break out in song he heard an hour ago, sense of humour, and ‘Andysms’ will precede him for many years to come.
A Celebration of Andy’s Life will be held on Thursday, October 10th, 2024 at the Cavan Monaghan Community Centre, 986 Peterborough County Road 10, Millbrook from 12:00 – 5:00 PM, with a dedication at 1:00 PM.
In Andy’s generous spirit of giving, donations to the Peterborough Humane Society or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at AshburnhamFuneral.ca
